When You Get What You Asked For...In The Timing You Didn't Expect.

As of April 12, 2017, I have been a stay at home wife. Before Levi and I got married, we discussed what we wanted for our life together, including our jobs/careers. He always wanted to be the provider for the family, have a stay at home wife/mom, and I have always wanted to be that person. Let me start by saying this, no, we are not pregnant, yes, I have had people ask that since I've been "unemployed".

Me working from home has been something that Levi and I have felt for quite some time now and we know that this is the direction that God has lead us towards. We knew that my time at my previous job was going to be coming to an end, but to be honest, we expected me to still be working there at least through the month of May. We expected more time to save up as much as we could, more time to build a plan for what I would be doing once I was home full-time, and more time to figure out where we could minimize our expenses and make sacrifices in order to survive financially. However, the last three weeks that I have been home, I have realized more and more that this is exactly where we are supposed to be and I am stepping into what I want to do. We have seen God working through our finances over the last few weeks and he is so faithful to provide and take care of us. There have been moments of fear of the unknown, tears, and frustration, but through it all we have seen His goodness.

You're probably wondering what I have been up to for the last three weeks then since I haven't had a job, well, let me tell you. I have slept 8+ hours each night, I spend lots of time with our puppy, Fennec, and I have worked on quite a few pieces of our furniture. You would think that our apartment would be spotless by now, but it is definitely not (although that's something I am trying to work on).

Our plan for me being home is that I can focus on doing what I love: painting, re-purposing, and decorating furniture. This is something that I hope will provide another means of income for Levi and I and for our future family. I have been re-doing the furniture that we have and use so I can start a portfolio of sorts in order to advertise what I am capable of. I love to create, I love to build and work with my hands, and I love to problem solve with these sorts of things.

I also love writing. The time that I have will allow for me to blog more regularly, start writing books, and help my husband work on his writing projects.

I have started an Instagram and Facebook page for my new business and I plan on being very intentional with posting on those regularly with updates on what I am working on, projects I have planned, and maybe even some funny clips of my everyday life and what it's like trying to do this type of work in a second story apartment with a VERY active puppy.
